About Me

Hi! My name is Heather, and I’m married to an adorable man (lovingly referred to as “Mr. B” here) and momma to 5 beautiful kiddos!  After years and years of refinishing furniture, decorating on a budget, searching for antiques and vintage finds, I finally decided that even if I’m the only one who ever reads this blog, it’ll be like a little diary of my personal triumphs and failures in my journey of DIY projects in and outside of my home.  I have a passion for surrounding myself with beautiful and meaningful things and creating a treasure out of someone else’s trash (ask my kids how embarrassed they are everytime I see a roadside treasure or old wood etc sticking out of a dumpster… Yep, I’m that lady!)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my little corner of the web!  This blog is all about my journey as I continually reinvent my style and get better with my tools… I’ll share my mistakes and my best tips here!  Maybe you’ll find something that inspires you, or saves you from making the same mistakes in your own home!  Feel free to leave comments or suggestions on any post. I love connecting with other Creatives! So glad you came by… Hopefully you’ll stick around a bit!

Much love,

Heather ❤️

  1. Hey Heather!
I love the fact that you try to fix up old furniture and make it beautiful again! I saw the dresser you painted it looks awesome! Love you blog. 🙂

  2. Okay Miss Heather. I might be totally in the dark here (what’s new) but I was trying to find out about your booth and the minds eye connection and can’t find anything. Am I missing it girl?

    • You’re so cute!! My hubby is actually the Director of Sales for My Minds Eye, and has been for the past 11 years. So, I kinda get an inside connection there to new projects etc. when I can, I go on trip for conventions etc and help him and style the booth etc.. Major bonus is that I get to work deals with them for things like flash sales etc. does that explain anything at all?!? 😬😕

  3. Hey Heather!

I just nominated you for the Liebster Award! You can find out more information about it on my new blog post!

  4. Hi Heather,
I want to say I’m so glad I found your blog! Quick question. Would you do the plywood aka shiplap in a bathroom? I was wondering how it would hold up with the steam and dampness from showers.
Thank so much for your awesome ideas and tips!

    • Hey Hope!! The shiplap should work great in the bathroom as it is moisture resistant and usually used in bathrooms as an underlayment for flooring! My blog has moved… Thank you so much for the sweet comment! I’d love for you to come follow along where I post now… 😘Www.onehorselane.com
